NOTICE OF ELECTION

ELECTION OF 1 (ONE) COUNCILLOR FOR THE PARISH OF HARTINGTON TOWN QUARTER

THURSDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:

1. An Election is to be held for 1 (ONE) COUNCILLOR for the HARTINGTON TOWN QUARTER Parish Council.
   
2.

Nomination forms are available from the Returning Officer, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN and can be:

–      Downloaded from 2024 elections – Derbyshire Dales District Council

–      requested by telephone – Elections Helpline on 01629 761335 (9am-5pm)

–      collected from The Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN (9am – 5pm)
   
3. Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Elections Office, between the hours of 10am and 4pm on any working day from the date of this notice, but not later than 4.00pm on Friday 18 October 2024 (Appointments for delivery of nominations are available from 01629 761335).
   
4. If an election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 14 November      2024.
   
5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 29 October 2024.  Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
   
6. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Wednesday 30 October 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote
   
7. Applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024. Applications can be made online at www.gov.uk/apply-proxy-vote

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Derbyshire Dales District Council, Town Hall, Matlock DE4 3NN by 5pm on Thursday 14 November 2024.  The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024.  To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024.

Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday
